    Responsibilities

    • The Staffing Coordinator’s main function is to supervise the process that ensures consistent nursing staffing within the facility.
    • The Staffing Coordinator works with the R.N./L.P.N./C.N.A. staff to coordinate work schedules, time off, and shift coverage when staff are ill.
    • They must have the ability to utilize the Onshift scheduling system.
    • The Staffing Coordinator’s communication skills are necessary in promoting a teamwork environment amongst all staff.
    • This is especially desirable when staff need extra support during periods of challenged staffing within the facility.
    • The Staffing Coordinator is also expected to manage the staffing schedule and to oversee the process on a 24-hour/7 day a week system, and is expected to maintain the staffing schedule for each shift, and monitor overtime utilization.
    • The Staffing Coordinator communicates key issues to the D.O.N. for support and guidance.

    Qualifications

    • C.N.A. Certification preferred.
    • Experienced in a Long Term Care facility preferred.
    • Prior scheduling experience preferred.
    • Knowledge of scheduling software a plus.
    • Good communication, computer, and mathematical skills.
    • Must be able to read, speak and understand the English language.
