    The Director of Assisted Living directs the nursing and resident partner team members in collaborating with the older adult in developing a plan of services to maintain maximum physical, mental, and psychosocial function. Supervise all assisted living team members and indirectly all support staff working in the neighborhood (activity, housekeeping and dining). They will ensure compliance with Illinois State Assisted Living regulations.


    • Evaluates residents' function and physical status on admission, during acute changes in conditions, and annually from the admission date to determine if an appropriate level of care is in place.
    • Provides direct care to residents and assessment in emergency situations.
    • Focuses attention on developing service plans, coordinating health services, and interacting with residents and their family members.
    • Dosters and maintains a resident centered philosophy on the floor.
    • Insures staff is familiar with and follows floors policies and procedures (i.e. resident rights)
    • Insures that all documentation required in floor policies and state regulations is completed and distributed to staff and IDPH as appropriate on a timely basis.
    • Manages or directs management of a nurse for medication program in cooperation with pharmacy. Oversees medication storage and administration.
    • Mentors team members.
    • Delivers prompt corrective feedback to staff when necessary.
    • Develops and delivers performance reviews on a regular and timely basis.
    • Oversees documentation and maintenance of resident privacy.
    • Promptly reports elder abuse, unsafe, or illegal practices.
    • All other duties as assigned.


    • Current state of Illinois Registered Nurse License or Bachelor’s Degree.
    • 2 years supervisory experience.
    • Communication skills necessary to lead, orient and in-service staff and interact effectively with residents, family and other community professionals.
    • Ability to handle unique situations and non-standard work assignments with imagination and creativity.
    • Knowledge of Illinois State Assisted Living guidelines and regulations.
    • Must be able to read, speak and understand the English language.
